OVERVIEW This Award is presented to pay tribute to a distinguished member in the administration of justice in the Arab Republic of Egypt, In the memory of Khaled El-Zoghby who was a true example of a fair and impartial jurist.
Criteria The Following elements constitute the criteria for “Judge of the year” Award:

1. Demonstrating high ideals and personal character.

2. Demonstrating outstanding, long-term judicial service during their years as a sitting judge.

3. A lifetime commitment to working in the public interest.

4. Achieved many remarkable successes, as well as contributions to the field of judiciary.

Ahmed Abaza:
Ahmed Abaza is a judge at the Egyptian council of state, and the Deputy Head of external relations and international cooperation at the Arab union of administrative judiciary.
He started his career as an attorney and before joining the council of state, he became a corporate attorney for a well renowned bank.

Amal Amar:
Amal Amar is one of the first female judges appointed in Egypt in the underrated-and-overlooked 2007 initiative to hire female judges from the Administrative Prosecution.
She was seated in many circuits and power-house courts such as the Economic Court, and the Ismaileya Appeal Court.
