OVERVIEW Making its debut in the 2019 Law Talks, this award is given to distinguish the best in-house legal department in the Egyptian market, in recognition of their efforts for the legal stability of their entities.
Criteria The following criteria is adopted for reviewing the performance of an in-house team:

1. Capacity for the closure of biggest transactions for the benefit of the company and the impact of such transactions on the company.

The work force of young lawyers and associates in the team with outstanding skills. Top deals record.

2. Positive perception by clients.

3. The degree of independence in handling most of the legal aspect of the entity’s transactions and investments (less margin of outsourcing).

4. Clear investment in the future in a particular area.

5. Strength of the team including (associates and managers).

6. The consistency of quality of the individuals within the team.

The Group legal director, Mr. Mahmoud Shaarawy, started his career with the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trading where he practiced maritime law and of corporate law. In 2010, he moved to El-Swedey as the Legal Counsel
